Philosophy

The Surface Logic team consists of highly experienced consultants with
expertise in manufacturing, logistical coordination, installation, product
service, and maintenance to provide a broad range of services. In addition, our leaders have 20-30 years of commercial flooring experience with an unmatched knowledge of vendors, manufacturing methods and products, and a special focus in the senior living markets.

To augment our team's expertise, Surface Logic works with flooring
manufacturers and carefully selects service providers that deliver
consistent value to our clients. For example, we outsource installation
on our clients’ behalf that meets their customized needs for insurance,
life safety, and quality. Our broad network of partners enables us to
recommend the best solution for each unique situation and to quickly
address issues within our clients' organizations, whether at the corporate
level or at multi-location, geographically dispersed facilities.

Charlie Hogan
Founder & Principal

Charlie Hogan co-founded Surface Logic in 2002 and is currently a
principal with the firm. Bringing many years of experience in the
commercial flooring industry, with a focus on the healthcare and senior
living markets, and including 16 years as CEO of a successful flooring company, Mr. Hogan is uniquely qualified to provide insights based on
both industry and business expertise.

Prior to founding Surface Logic, Mr. Hogan was founder and CEO of
Interfinish Flooring, a Washington D.C. area commercial flooring business, specializing in consultative and value-added services in the healthcare, senior living, and corporate segments. Interfinish has been recognized in the industry numerous times including achievements of excellence in sales and marketing, reclamation, and operations.

Previously, Mr. Hogan was general manager of another commercial
flooring company specializing in the healthcare, senior living, and
corporate markets. The early years of his career were spent in sales and
marketing with Armstrong World Industries.

Mr. Hogan received his bachelor's degree in Communication Studies in
1986 from Virginia Tech. He is involved in industry associations including IFMA, BOMA, ALFA, ASHE, and IIDA.

Andy Baxter

As chief operating officer of Surface Logic, Andrew Baxter brings in
excess of 20 years experience in the industry. Mr. Baxter has experience
in all facets of the industry including sales, operations, and finance as
both the manufacturer and dealer.

Mr. Baxter joined Surface Logic in 2002 after seven years with a national flooring manufacturer, having left as a regional vice president specializing in turnaround management. Prior to that, Mr. Baxter was involved with both the IT and franchise group.

Mr. Baxter graduated from Baldwin Wallace College in 1983 with a
Bachelors degree in both accounting and finance.

Tony Troehler

As executive vice president of Surface Logic, Tony Troehler's charge is to expand sales, manage the sales team, and cultivate the relationship with existing customers and their outsourced partners, which include design and construction. Of his 35-plus years of industry experience, more than 20 have been spent in sales and management following 11 years in installation.

Prior to Surface Logic, Mr. Troehler spent six years with a national flooring manufacturer where he held several management positions, including regional vice president and head of sales training. During his time there, he was recognized for growing the Cincinnati region to one of the top-performing locations in the U.S.

The earlier years of Mr. Troehler's career were spent in sales, installation,
and general management for a local Cincinnati flooring company. During
his time there, he was elected president of Local 873.

Mr. Troehler's construction management training was through the University of Cincinnati. He subsequently was certified in flooring installation by The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Additionally, he has served as president of the Floor Layers Union in Cincinnati, as director of the Unions Joint Apprenticeship Committee, and as a member of the negotiating committee for union contracts.

David Gorman
Vice President & General Manager

As vice president and general manager, David Gorman is responsible for ensuring operational effectiveness as Surface Logic continues to grow. Mr. Gorman's experience is well suited for this role, gained from more than 27 years of working for national flooring manufacturers, including Invista. He has held positions ranging from engineering to operations and sales management to supply chain management.

Even more recently, Mr. Gorman has proven his capability as a Six Sigma Black Belt and as a commercial fiber account manager, in which he grew his accounts while developing strong relationships with mill leadership.

Mr. Gorman graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
